Mount Barker Country Fire Service is located on the South Eastern Freeway in the Adelaide Hills 35km East of the City of Adelaide, South Australia. The Mount Barker brigade is the largest brigade within the Heysen CFS group with it's primary response area covering 124 square kilometres with 17 square kilometres of this area being Urban including Housing, Nursing Homes, Hospitals, Schools, Shopping Malls, Hotels, and Industrial areas. Mount Barker responds to an average of 380 emergency calls a year with over 35% of these calls being Motor Vehicle Accidents. Mount Barker is home to the Busiest Rescue in the Country Fire Service and prides itself on the professional fire and rescue service it provides to Hills residents.

MVA FIRE FLAXLEY

At 10:56hrs Mt Barker Volunteer fire-fighters were alerted to a single car MVA, Stamps road Flaxley. Barker Rescue and Barker 34P responded to the call. Upon arrival, crews reported a car vs tree well involved in fire. Fire-fighters worked quickly containing the fire within 30 minutes of the call. Barker appliances were back in station at 1434hrs.


 
   
   
CAR FIRE MT BARKER

At 03:30hrs Mt Barker CFS crews were alerted by Adelaide fire communications to a Car fire Penny st Mt Barker. Mt Barker Pump19 and Barker34P responded to the call. On arrival crews reported one vehicle fully involved in fire. Barker crews were back in station by 0430hrs.


 
   
   
GRASS FIRE NAIRNE

At 0918hrs Mt Barker CFS fire-fighters were called to assist at a 2nd alarm Grass Fire, Ironstone Range Road Nairne. Mt Barker 24 & 34P responded to the call. On arrival crews reported a large Grass fire not yet under control. Fire crews worked for an hour to contain the fire to around 30 hectares. Mt Barker fire-fighters were back in station by 1400hrs


 
   
   
ROLLOVER CLOSES FREEWAY

At 04:40hrs Mt Barker CFS crews were alerted by Adelaide fire communications to a Chicken truck rollover on the SE Freeway Mt Barker. Mt Barker Pump19 and Barker34P responded to the call. On arrival crews reported one semi rolled over blocking both Adelaide bound lanes. Crews made the scene safe and the freeway remained blocked for most of the day. Barker crews were back in station by 0610hrs


 
   
   
CAR FIRE SE FREEWAY

At 06:00hrs Mt Barker CFS crews were alerted by Adelaide fire communications to a Car fire SE Freeway Mt Barker. Mt Barker Pump19 and Barker34P responded to the call. On arrival crews reported one vehicle fully involved in fire. Barker crews were back in station by 0700hrs.


 
2nd ALARM RURAL FIRE
Friday, November 11, 2011

At 14:49hrs Mt Barker and Hahndorf crews were alerted to a Tree Fire, Totness road Totness. Barker 24 responded to the call. On arrival crews reported a burn off that had spread to nearby bush and grass land. The call was upgraded with Barker 34P, Littlehampton 24 & Nairne 24 added to the call. Fire-fighters worked quickly containing the fire within 30minitues of the call. All Barker appliances were back in station at 1730hrs.

At 05:18hrs Mt Barker & Littlehampton CFS crews were alerted by Adelaide fire communications to a car fire on Hallett Rd Littlehampton. Mt Barker Rescue and Littlehampton 24P responded to the call. On arrival crews found car fully involved in fire.


 
   
   
CAR FIRE MT BARKER
Friday, September 16, 2011

At 12:27hrs Mt Barker Volunteer fire-fighters were alerted to a Car & Caravan Fire, SE Freeway Mt Barker. Barker Rescue and Barker 34P responded to the call. Upon arrival, crews reported a single vehicle well involved in fire. Fire-fighters quickly knocked down the fire, stopping it from spreading to the caravan. Barker appliances were back in station at 1330hrs.


 
   
   
SCHOOL FIRE MT BARKER
Thursday, September 15, 2011

At 14.10 hrs Mt Barker  volunteer fire-fighters were alerted to a building fire, Corner Stone College Mount Barker. Barker Rescue and Barker 34P responded to the call. On arrival crews reported smoke issuing, from the rear of a Tec studies class room. The fire was quickly contained to a large dust extractor machine. Crews were back in station by 1545hrs.


 
   
   
CAR VS TRUCK WITH ENTRAPMENT

At 08.45hrs Mount Barker fire-fighters were alerted to a Road Crash Rescue, Long Valley Road Gemmels. Mt Barker Rescue & 34P responded to the call. On arrival crews reported a car vs truck, with one person trapped. Fire-fighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to release the trapped occupant. During the incident Mt Barker 34P was diverted to a single vehicle rollover Hill view road Strathalbyn.
